Cargill Cottage:

A newly completed cottage on 2.5 acres of woodland with 150 feet of lakeshore on Cargill Pond in Liberty, Maine. Cargill Pond has no public access and is approximately 1 mile long, making it a very quiet oasis for your vacation. Peace and tranquility reign as most watercraft are non-motorized on the pond.

The cottage is set back 100 feet from the waterfront on a slight rise with views of the water and woods beyond. The cottage is accessed via a dirt road with few houses making this a very private location. This is a four season cottage with full amenities inside and outside with a hammock for summer reading, log benches around the property for loon watching and quiet contemplation.There is a sunny outdoor seating area looking towards the pond with a gas grill for outdoor eating. At the lake shore there is a picnic table and chairs surrounding a fire pit for nightly fires and smores eating! The property also has two kayaks, a rowboat and a canoe available for guests to use. On the water there are two docks for swimming and boating and offshore a swim float with a slide. The water is crystal clear and deep making it ideal for jumping in on a hot day.

Inside the cottage has been finished in wood detail and is beautifully light and airy with cathedral ceilings, large windows and glass doors looking out to the pond. It has been furnished with casual living and comfort in mind and allows guests to enjoy all that a Maine summer can offer. The living room faces the pond with views through the sliding french doors and has a pine clad vaulted ceiling. The open plan construction has the dining area and kitchen also facing the lake. The modern and functional kitchen includes a dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, electric range, toaster, washer and dryer plus cooking utensils and crockery for most occasions. A lobster pot is provided so there is no excuse for not enjoying Maine's bounty.

The master bedroom with a queen bed is on the ground floor and has access to the outside through french doors and also has a view of the woods and lake. There is a sitting area for reading and plenty of drawer and hanging space. The master bathroom, with a jacuzzi tub and shower is off the master bedroom and the half bath is off the hallway. Going up from the living room via a distinctive spiral stairway there is a sleeping loft with four twin beds and a large sitting/playing carpeted area for indoor time. Another large picture window brings the outside in and there is a balcony for catching the morning sun.

Children are welcome at Cargill Cottage and there are plenty of books, games and puzzles for quiet evenings or the odd wet day! A baby gate is provided for the spiral stairs should it be required.There is no internet service, cable or satellite service at the cottage. Cell phone coverage can be good dependent on your provider.
